Dr. Sebastian Streukens is general and imaging cardiologist at the cardiology department of Maastricht UMC+ since 2015. He is trained and certified in echocardiography (TTE/TOE), cardiac computed tomography (CCT) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). His special interests are imaging of the mitral and tricuspid valves and interventional echocardiography. As a member of the dedicated mitral heart team he is closely involved in pre-, peri- and postoperative care of patients with valvular heart disease, especially mitral and tricuspid valve disease. Since 2017 he is appointed head of the echocardiography department at Maastricht UMC+. He also is an active member of the Dutch working group cardiovascular imaging of the NVVC and also Fellow of the European Association Cardiovascular Imaging (FEACVI). Together with Dr. Peyman Sardari Nia he has hosted multiple international courses on mitral valve interventions.
