Preparing your visit

Visa information

Each country has different visa application procedures. Patients are responsible for obtaining the appropriate travel documentation. Depending on your nationality and length of stay, you will either need a short or a long stay visa. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals may travel to Maastricht without a visa.

Non-EU and EEA nationals will require a visa. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your visa, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our International Patient Office representative will help you and can provide all the necessary information or can arrange visa for you.

Health and travel insurance

It is also important to prepare the financial details of your trip. If you have health insurance, please call your insurance company before arriving in the Netherlands. Your insurance company will start the financial clearance process.

Whether you are covered by insurance or paying for your own healthcare, we will help ensure that the billing and payment process runs smoothly. Our International Patient Office representative will therefore verify your insurance information with you. You can always contact us to resolve billing issues or for any other queries regarding finance or insurance.

Please note that travel insurance is mandatory. Patients are responsible for arranging this insurance.
